I feel like the weeks of May when the Arrowleaf Balsamroot are blooming should be designated as it’s own season and festival - such a beautiful summary of the Inland Northwest landscapes and pine forests. These sunshine flowers are some of my very favorites and you will often find pillows of Tufted Phlox nestled below.
